How we build our calculators
- Standard, published methods. We use the formulas lenders, clinicians and textbooks use, and every page explains them with a worked example.
- Tested against reference values. Each calculation engine has automated tests that compare its results with published tables and official worked examples.
- Current data, with sources. Figures that change, such as tax brackets and contribution limits, are checked against official sources, labeled with the year they apply to, and cited.
- Private by design. Calculations run entirely in your browser. What you type is not sent to our servers.
- Accessible. Keyboard-friendly, labeled for screen readers, readable in light and dark mode, and every chart has a table.
An important note
Our calculators provide estimates for educational purposes. They aren't financial, tax, legal or medical advice. For decisions about a loan, investment, tax filing or your health, confirm the numbers with a qualified professional.
